Armando’s training of Andrew Garfield helped prepare and transform his body for his role as The Amazing Spider-Man. He was able to increase his endurance, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, and balance.


He has designed exercises specific for women focusing on gaining long and lean muscles that create beautiful lines while avoiding bulk. These movements elongate and engage the entire body…not just specific areas. Katy Perry’s performances during her Prismatic World Tour was one of the most physically demanding shows a performer could execute. Armando’s specific training exercises became instrumental in catapulting Katy into her most optimum physical form. The training allowed her to have the stamina and explosive energy needed to complete 151 shows in 52 countries.

CAT is an athlete, personal trainer, foodie, stunt woman, and a female force. Her fitness approach is simple: Change is a choice that brings movement.  Cat has been training a diverse spectrum of clients in Los Angeles for over ten years. She guides her clients through physical change and emphasizes the importance of keeping a mental and spiritual balance in all aspects of their lives. She encourages her clients to achieve a healthy body to allow for a creative, energetic, and happy heart. This has made her one of the industry’s most admired and committed trainers.


Fitness has been a part of Cat’s life from an early age. She was the girl who played soccer and football during recess and couldn’t wait for PE class. She was the girl that signed up for weight-training classes, training on the track, or doing gymnastics on the mat. It was no surprise that she became a regular Hollywood stuntwoman. Her strength and love for adventure landed her movie stunts in “Thor,” “The Green Hornet,” “The Amazing Spider-Man,” as well as television’s “House MD,” “Teen Wolf,” and “Ray Donovan”.

The toughest workout isn’t getting the body in shape, but getting the mind in shape as well. Her role is to empower clients to make lasting and lifelong changes that go beyond a gym. Cassandra Bonds



Cassandra Bonds is a Level 1 CrossFit trainer and has been personal training since 2007 while in college. Growing up Cassandra played basketball and volleyball through college. She has always had a love of a team environment and fell in love with crossfit after her first workout. Cassandra graduated from Bridgewater State University in 2010 with a bachelors in exercise physiology. Cassandra also has a background in teaching group exercise classes and boot camp style classes. In the fall of 2012 Cassandra started participating crossfit classes and with that love for the sport she decided to get certified in November of 2013. Functional movements is a huge part in Cassandra’s practice and believes in training people for your daily life.



JR Jaquay



JR has been involved in gymnastics since he was 3 years old. He competed in gymnastics up through the age of 24 at the College Club level.


JR has worked at three National Team Training Centers including WOGA Gymnastics, home of the 2004 and 2008 US Olympic All-Around Champions in women's gymnastics.


In 2008 JR moved to Denver, Colorado where he became the owner of a gymnastics training center. JR started his boys team with 7 boys in 2009 and grew his program to the largest program in the state of Colorado with 87 boys competing in 2017- 2018 season. In October of 2017 JR was looking for a life change and decided to move to California. He had originally planned on being here for one year and then moving back to Denver to continue running his business. He fell in love with California and decided to remain in California.


JR holds an B.A. in Psychology and has one year's work toward a Master's in Social Work. JR places an emphasis on efficient movement patterns that maximize output in workouts. JR also years of experience as an endurance athlete completing two Ironman 70.3, the Great Wall of China Marathon twice and then Running of the Bulls in Spain.




Originally from Norfolk, England. Edward has a broad background in a variety of sports, from Football (the proper kind!) Cricket, Rugby, Tennis, Badminton, Kayaking and Rock Climbing.


He trained as a dancer, actor and circus performer at the Leicester College of Performing Arts, graduating in 2005 with a Trinity Musical Theatre Diploma.


Since graduating he has performed all over the world and is now an international choreographer and director with a multitude of shows to his name. He completed his CrossFit Level 1 certification in 2016 and been coaching and organizing Crossfit events in the UK since then.  Since moving across the pond, first to Miami and now to LA he has coached at several gyms and CrossFit boxes including being part of the judging team at the 2018 Atlantic Regional.


 Edward is honored to be working here at Bars & Burn with some amazing coaches.







Nathan is a certified fitness trainer bringing fun and excitement to the workout grind. He participated in many sports, primarily wrestling giving him a foundation for life: technique, hard-work and persistence at the base and health, longevity, and mobility at the top. And of course winning the wrestling match

“It doesn’t matter where you start, it matters where you end up”. So, wherever you are in your journey I want to help you.


Also, “perspective can be everything”. Life can have tragedy no matter who you are. However, if we can shift the paradigm, a negative can be a giant positive force in the long run. Nathan’s goal is teach the body proper movement and restore what has been lost as well as nurture the mind.
